XFP/XFI Test
Description
XFI is the 10 Gb/s serial interface on XFP optical transceivers. These
transceivers are hot-pluggable 10 Gb/s devices aimed to be low cost and field-installable.
They are designed to be operable across several different standards, including SONET and 10G
Ethernet. The optical side of the transceiver is tested to the standard specified for the target
application (for example, SONET). The electrical interface side of the transceiver is specified
by the XFP MSA.
