Practical Optical Stress Testing, Part 1: 10GbE
This comprehensive paper provides a short form step by step procedure to set up optical stress for compliance testing of 10GbE receivers. Calibration, pattern selection and test set up for screening towards the 10GbE standard are illustrated in details using the BERTScope and JDS-U OPTX10 combination as an example.

This paper looks at in details of the horizontal and vertical eye openings illustrated with examples from the 4x Fibre channel and 10GbE standards, but applicable to many other high speed signal integrity measurements.

SyntheSys presents “Dual Dirac, Scope Histograms and BERTScan Measurements” paper at DesignCon, 11:05 on Tuesday, February 7, at the Santa Clara Convention Center.
Much has been written about the strengths and weaknesses of dual-Dirac as a model for jitter measurement. The aim of this paper is to give a gentle introduction to the topic, and how the dual-Dirac method relates to practical measurements that can be made with sampling scopes and BER-based instruments.
